My interest in photography started at an early age, first playing with dads (film) camera until I earned some money to buy my own. Since then I have witnessed and grown into the digital age when the Sony Mavica started to appear and really jumped on this train when Canon released their first 10D and later 1D models.
The digital age in photography is fast paced, camera’s are getting technical more advanced each year which should make it easier for anyone to get sharp and correctly exposed images.
People often ask me which camera they should get. At this point in time I think there aren’t any really bad camera’s anymore, the best camera you can buy is the one that makes you want to use it and does not obstruct you.
I use the Fujifilm system, since I have an old love for their (film) color-science, this science is now cleverly incorporated into their digital camera line-up and enables you to make the clean digital files look more organic.
It also help that their system is fairly lightweight which really helps feeling less tired after a long day using the camera and lenses.
Technology however does not aid in an image that is pleasing to the eye, the person behind the lens is still the decisive factor to be creative and make you look your best with the help of the technology at hand.
I am mostly autodidact but have attended the Amsterdam PhotoAcademy as well. I primarely photograph people in different settings but I am also available for documenting your family/wedding/new born – or- business needs e.g. product/pack shots or documenting (corporate) events.
Working on, and travelling to, any location is always an option as is providing you with the right kind of studio / location for your needs.
